McNally Bharat Engineering Company Ltd (MBECL) announced on 18 April that it has obtained a turnkey contract worth Rs 379 crore from SAIL's Bhilai Steel Plant. The Kolkata based company bagged the contract for installation of a coke oven by-product plant complex linked to BSP's new coke oven battery No 11. The scope of work thus includes design, engineering, supply of plant and equipment etc for installation of by-product plant complex and its integration with existing facilities for New Coke Oven Battery No-11 of the Bhilai steel plant.
The plant is to recover coal chemicals by-products and also to condition the gas generated by the new 7-metre tall battery being erected at BSP as part of its expansion plan. MBECL is also executing contract for a material handling unit for BSP.
The contract is to be executed within 24 months from now.
