The Union Ministry of Railways has announced one of the world’s largest recruitment processes by inviting online applications for around 89409 posts in Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) & Level II categories.
Group C Level-1 Category
The posts under this level include Track maintainer, Points man, Helper, Gateman and Porter in the age group of 18-31 years.
Group C Level –II Category
The posts under this level include Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians such as fitter, crane driver, blacksmith and carpenter in the age group of 18-28 years.
Eligibility
The candidates in the age group of 18-31 years, who have passed class 10th and have an industrial training certificate (ITI), will be eligible for Group C Level-1 posts.
The candidates in the age group of 18-28 years, who have passed class 10th and have an industrial training certificate (ITI) or have a diploma in engineering or a graduation in engineering will be eligible to apply for Group C Level-2 posts.
Last Date
Applications for Group C Level-1 will be accepted till March 12, 2018.
Applications for Group C Level-2 will be accepted till March 5, 2018.

Other Facilities
The SC/ST candidates will be provided with free sleeper class railway pass facility for computer-based aptitude tests, physical efficiency tests and document verification during the recruitment stages.
Salary
Group C Level posts: The selected candidates will be given their monthly salary along with allowances as per the Seventh Pay Commission (level 1) scale (18,000- 56,900).
Group C level II posts: The selected candidates will be given their monthly salary along with allowances as per the Seventh Pay Commission (level 2) scale (19,900-63,200).
