UP Government launches Prakash Hai to Vikas Hai Scheme
The Uttar Pradesh (UP) Government recently launched ‘Prakash hai to vikas hai’ Scheme, a free household power connection scheme for the poor in the state.

The scheme was launched to mark former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday on the occasion of Good Governance Day on 25 December.

Initially, two village Lohban and Gausana of Mathura district have been covered under this scheme for 100 per cent electrification. Under the scheme, UP government has set a target to cover 16 million by the end of 2018.

Union Government launches electronic-Human Resource Management System
The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions on 25 December 2017 launched the electronic-Human Resource Management System (e-HRMS) on the occasion of Good Governance Day.

The e-HRMS was launched as a step towards the ease of governance. e-HRMS is an online platform for central government employees to apply for leave and access their service-related information.

It will enable employees to see all their details with respect to service book, leave, salary, GPF, etc. and also apply for different kind of claims and reimbursements, loan and advances, leave, leave encashment, LTC advances, tour etc. on a single platform.

Atal Innovation Mission selects 1500 schools for setting up of Atal Tinkering Labs across India
NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) on 26 December 2017 selected additional 1500 Schools for establishment of Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) to give a major boost to the vision of the mission to ‘Cultivate One Million children in India as the Innovators of tomorrow’.

Atal Tinkering Labs are innovation play workspaces for students between Grade VI to Grade XII, to stimulate them for innovations combining science & technology. These open-ended innovation workspaces equipped with technologies like 3D printers, Robotics and Sensor Technology Kits enable the students to learn and solve local community problems using emerging Technologies.

Students are encouraged to explore and experience Design Thinking and Innovation, using a do-it-yourself approach and develop innovative solutions to India’s social, community or economic problems.
