National Teacher's Day: In India, where the tradition of honoring Gurus dates back to ancient times with the practice of Guru Dakshina, teachers are held in the highest regard. Recognizing the critical role they play in shaping the nation's future, the Central Government acknowledges their invaluable contributions by honoring them with various prestigious awards.
One such prestigious honor is the National Teacher Award, which is presented annually by the President of India. For 2024, the National Teacher Award has been announced, and on September 5, 2024, President Draupadi Murmu will honor 50 distinguished teachers with this award on the occasion of National Teachers’ Day.
National Teacher Award: When and Where
The National Teacher Awards 2024 will be presented on to the selected teachers on the eve of Teacher's Day, September 5th. The award ceremony will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Teachers will be honored with the award by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.
National Teacher Award Cash Prize
The National Teacher Awards 2024 aims to honor and celebrate the outstanding achievements of educators who have significantly impacted their students and contributed to the advancement of India’s educational system.
The teachers who will be receiving this award will receive a cash prize of ₹50,000, a silver medal, and a citation in recognition of their excellence.
