MCX Stock Exchange on 13 Sept 2010 got one year extension to offer trading in currency derivatives from Capital market regulator, SEBI. MCX-SX can begin trading in securities on 16 Sept 2010 and its activities in the category on 15 Sept 2011. MCX-SX currently awaits approval from SEBI to start business in equities. MCX-SX is currently allowed to trade only in US dollar-Indian rupee (USD-INR), Euro-Indian rupee (EURINR), pound sterling- Indian rupee (GBPINR) and Japanese yen- Indian rupee (JPYINR).
