Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, the Indian tennis pair, won the Chennai open men's doubles title on 9 January 2011 by defeating Robin Hasse of Netherlandand and David Martin of USA

Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, the Indian tennis pair, won the Chennai open men's doubles title on 9 January 2011 by defeating Robin Hasse of Netherlandand and David Martin of USA by a score line of 6-2,6-7(3-7),10-7. It was the fifth Chennai open title for Paes and Bhupathi. Paes and Bhupathi had won Chennai open last time in 2002.


In the men’s singles of Chennai Open, Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland defeated Xavier Malisse of Belgium by 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 to won the Chennai open. It was the second time Stanislas Wawrinka reached the singles final of Chennai Open. In the last final he was defeated by Marin Cilic of Croatia.


Chennai Open tournament is India’s largest tennis event and this time Aircel was its title-sponsor. Chennai open is played on hard court and comprises of two events, the men’s Singles and the men’s Doubles. The tournament carries a prize money of 450000 dollars. Chennai Open is generally held in the first week of January and is recognized as the first ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) event of the calendar year.
