Pakistan launched military operations against terrorists near Afghan border

The Pakistan army on 26 November 2013 has launched military operations against terrorists in the North Waziristan tribal region near the Pak-Afghan border. The Pakistan’s attack came two days after two security persons, were killed and five were injured in a remote control bomb explosions in the area by the terrorists.

North Waziristan acts like a haven for Pakistani Taliban, linked to the al-Qaeda. The US had been pushing the Pakistan Army to launch a military operation in North Waziristan. However, Army has refused to do so.
