Pankaj Advani won CCI Biliards title

Pankaj Advani on 14 May 2014 won Cricket Club of India (CCI) Classic Billiards and Snooker tournament.

Pankaj Advani on 14 May 2014 won Cricket Club of India (CCI) Classic Billiards and Snooker tournament. He defeated two-time world runner-up Dhruv Sitwala 1425-447 in the final.

The Bangalore-based Eight-time world champion Pankaj Advani also won the Highest Break award for the 530, which he scored against Devendra Joshi in the quarterfinals.

At the halfway mark of the four-hour final, Sitwala was trailing 227-787 with the aid of a 95 break. While, Advani had procured breaks of 243, 193, 98, 87 and 78.

Pankaj Advani is a 8-time World Champion. He won his first world title when he was just 18. He is the only Asian to have ever won both the Billiards and Snooker World Championships.

Pankaj Advani is one of the youngest Indian to be honoured with the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award. He has also been conferred with the Arjuna and Padmashree awards.
