Pankaj Advani on 30 October 2014 won IBSF World Billiards Championship (Point Format) in Bangalore. He won by defeating Robert Hall of the UK with a score of 1928 – 893 in the finals. This is his 12th title in the Timed Format and third Grand double.
Earlier, Advani won the World Billiards (Timed Format) Championship 2014 by beating Peter Gilchrist (Rank 1) on 28 October 2014.
Advani is the first cueist to win the Grand double three times (Mike Russell has won the Grand title two times). He pocketed two grand doubles in 2005 and 2008 respectively.
In 2014, he has already won four titles so far. These are
• World Snooker 6-red
• World team billiards
• World billiards (150 points up)
• World billiards (Time Format)
He is the only man to have won World titles in both 15-red and 6-red snooker.
He also is a record five-time Asian billiards championship winner.
