On Nature
The Prime Minister then highlighted the importance of conserving nature in the Mann ki baat live today, saying when we conserve nature, it gives us protection and security in return. He highlighted that nature poses a threat to us only when we disturb her balance or destroy her sanctity.
He gave an example of the same by talking about a traditional river in Jalaun – Noon River. He said that the Noon River, which used to be the main source of water for the farmers reached the verge of extinction, which created an irrigation crisis for the farmers. He then highlighted how the people of Jalaun took the initiative to turn around the situation.

A committee was formed in March this year and thousands of villagers and local people spontaneously volunteered to join the campaign and today, in such a short time and low cost, the river has come to back again. The Prime Minister said that this is an example of 'sabka saath, sabka vikas.'
He also highlighted how many coastal areas are prone to land submersion and there are many small islands and islets in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, which were increasingly facing the danger of submerging in the sea. The people and experts there found the mitigation from the natural disaster through nature itself. PM Modi highlighted that these people are now planting Palmyra trees on these islands. The trees are known to stand firm even in cyclones and storms and give protection to the soil.
PM Modi further stressed that whatever natural resources are around us, we should save them, bring them back to their actual form. He said, "in this lies the interests of all of us, interests of the world."
