PM Narendra Modi to hold virtual summit with Vietnam PM on December 21

The two leaders are expected to exchange views on wide-ranging bilateral, regional and global issues during the summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be conducting Virtual Summit with the Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc on December 21, 2020.

The two leaders are expected to exchange views on wide-ranging bilateral, regional and global issues during the summit. 

They are also expected to provide guidance for the future development of India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

India-Vietnam Relations

India and Vietnam, both continued to maintain high-level exchanges in 2020 with Vietnam Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh's official visit to India in February 2020. 

The Prime Ministers of the two nations also had a telephonic conversation on April 13, 2020 to discuss the situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Further, the 17th edition of the Joint Commission Meeting was held virtually on August 25, 2020, which was co-chaired by the Foreign Ministers of the two nations. 

Further, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a virtual meeting with the Defence Minister of Vietnam on November 27, 2020.
