India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day today, January 26, 2025. President Draupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag on Kartavya Path, marking the start of the grand parade. The ceremony began at 10:30 am, showcasing the country’s military strength and rich cultural heritage.
The flag hoisting ceremony started at 9:00 am, and the parade began at 10:30 am from Vijay Chowk, concluding at the Red Fort via India Gate. Over 70,000 policemen have been deployed across Delhi to ensure tight security.
Republic Day 2025: Cheif Guest
The parade on Kartavya Path with tableaux of several states is an essential part of India's Republic Day celebrations. Prabowo Subianto, the president of Indonesia, is the main guest during the parade on Sunday, including a marching band contingent of 352 members.
Republic Day 2025 Theme
The theme for this year's Republic Parade tableaux is "Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas". The parade featured 15 tableaux representing federal ministries, departments, and organizations in addition to 16 tableaux from states and Union Territories.

The theme for this year’s tableaux is “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas,” showcasing cultural heritage and progress through 31 tableaux from various states and central ministries.
