Steel authority of India SAIL and Indian Railways subsidiary RITES entered into a JV agreement on 2 December 2010 set up wagon manufacturing plant at Kulti in Burdhman district of West Bengal. The wagon manufacturing plant is expected to churn out 1200 units annually. The facility will be equipped with rehabilitation capacity of 300 wagons per annum. Steel Authority of India, SAIL had signed the joint venture agreement with Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES) on 14 September 2010 for the development of Kulti unit which is likely to entail an expenditure of 120 crore.
