Ten new Swachh Iconic Places of the country on June 26, 2018 came up with thorough action plans for raising their sanitation standards to exemplary levels.
The plans were formulated at a two-day consultation in Hyderabad held between Central and State Government agencies, local administrations and the Trusts of the iconic places. Over 100 delegates from across the country attended the consultation.
All the 30 Swachh Iconic Places, selected so far under the Swachh Bharat Mission, also resolved to make their sites completely free of plastic.

These 10 sites constitute Phase-III of the Swachh Iconic Places (SIP) initiative of the Swachh Bharat Mission that is coordinated by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
Review of 20 Swachh Iconic Places of Phase-I and Phase-II
• During the consultation meeting, a review was done of the 20 Swachh Iconic Places of Phase-I and Phase-II.
• Parameswaran Iyer, Secretary of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, presided over the consultation and review meeting and expressed satisfaction over the progress made by this unique initiative.
• The special Swachhata initiatives at these places have received CSR support from public and private companies.
