Paralympic swimmer Sharath Gayakwad won two Bronze and one Silver at the IDM Berlin 2014. He won Bronze Medals in the 200m Individual Medley (2:44.06 seconds) and the 100m Butterfly (1:09.67 seconds) and won the Silver Medal in the 100m Breaststroke.
Niels Korfitz Mortensen of Denmark won the Gold Medal and Oliver Hynd of Britain won the Silver Medal respectively in the 100m Butterfly, S8 category.
About Sharath Gayakwad
GayaKwad was born in Bangalore in 1991. He is the first Indian swimmer to qualify for the Paralympics and competed in the Summer Paralympics 2012 held in London.
Gayakwad is India’s sole representative at the International German Championships. He participated in 50m, 100m and 400m Freestyle, the 100m Backstroke and the 100m Breaststroke besides the 200m Individual Medley.
