Spaniard Garbine Muguruza won women’s singles title of China Open
The China Open was Muguruza’s second WTA title, after she won her first at Hobart International in 2014.
Spain’s Garbine Muguruza on 11 October 2015 captured the China Open women's singles title by defeating Switzerland's Timea Bacsinszky. Muguruza emerged out victorious by a perfect 3-0 record against the Swiss rival.
The win had Muguruza achieve her career-high singles ranking of world no. 4.
The China Open was Muguruza’s second WTA title, after she won her first at Hobart International in 2014. She had also reached the final of the 2015 Wimbledon Championships and made consecutive quarterfinal appearances at the 2014 and 2015 French Open.
Six feet tall Garbine Muguruza was born on 8 October 1993 in Caracas, Venezuela. She turned pro on 2 March 2012.
