S.S.N. Moorthy on 30 December 2010 was appointed member of the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT). Prior to being appointed as a SAT member, Moorthy was Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). The CBDT chairman’s post will be held by Sudhir Chandra, a 1973-batch Indian Revenue Services officer who has been a member of CBDT since February 2009.
