Delhi’s Rising Air Pollution

Delhi is at the top of the list of the nation's most polluted cities, according to real-time data. Due to the concerning rise in air pollution in Delhi, the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-II) was put into effect in Delhi-NCR on Monday.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) daily AQI Bulletin, Delhi's average daily AQI was 310, falling into the "Very Poor" category.

Rising Pollution in Smaller Cities

In addition to Delhi, several tier II and tier III cities in the North Indian states experience their worst levels of air pollution throughout the winter. According to Down to Earth, which cited a thorough analysis by the Centre for Science and Environment, North and East India continued to be the most polluted areas over the winter.

Aside from major cities like Delhi, smaller cities like Bihar and Rajasthan have become the main hotspots for pollution. According to the survey, the pollution levels in cities like Hanumangarh in Rajasthan and Begusarai in Bihar are comparable to those in the nation's capital.
