Jet Airways top management team of CEO, CFO resigns

Jet Airways CEO Vinay Dube resigned from his post with immediate effect citing personal reasons. Dube's resignations came just hours after airline's Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Amit Agarwal resigned. The airline's Chief People Officer Rahul Taneja also resigned from his post.

A new vine snake species found in Odisha

A new vine snake species has been discovered in the eastern part of Odisha after around a century. This species was last seen in 1906. This 'Ahaetulla laudankia' vine snake resembles dried stems of bottle gourd. It took 10 years for scientists for completing field and laboratory work to confirm about new species.

India chosen as Co-chair of Consultative Group of Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery

India was chosen as the Co-chair of the Consultative Group (CG) of Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) for the fiscal year 2020.  The move came after India expressed its interest to Co-chair the Group during its last meeting in October 2018. This will be the first time that India will co-chair the CG meeting of GFDRR.

NGT directs 18 states, 2 UTs to submit action plan on utilisation of treated wastewater

The NGT recently directed 18 States and 2 Union Territories to submit their respective action plans on utilisation of treated wastewater to reduce pressure on the groundwater resources across the country. The green panel noted that so far only 9 states and 5 UTs have submitted their action plan.

Moon is shrinking and shaking: NASA Study

NASA recently revealed that moon is shrinking from millions of years and still counting.  Nasa's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) captured 3D images of moon surface that revealed its surface is shrinking, getting more than about 150 feet skinnier over the last several hundred million years.
