Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) issued new guidelines for establishment of petrol pumps. The new guidelines have been prepared after taking in the poor impact of petrol pumps on environment. These guidelines are based on the directives of the National Green Tribunal (NGT). One of the guidelines states that a petrol pump can’t be built within 50 m radius of a school, residential area or hospital.
