Vodafone wins arbitration case against India on retrospective tax
Vodafone Group has won the arbitration case against India in the Permanent Court of Arbitration in Hague. The Court ruled that the Indian income tax authorities violated the provisions of Bilateral Investment Treaty with Netherlands by making amendment to the law retrospectively and demanding more than Rs 20,000 crore from Vodafone Group in tax and penalties.
ICMR Vaccine web portal & COVID-19 National Clinical Registry launched
Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan has launched the vaccine web portal of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) along with the National Clinical Registry for COVID-19. The web portal will provide complete information on COVID-19 vaccine development in India in a transparent manner.
US Federal Judge halts ban on Tik Tok downloads
United States federal judge on September 27, 2020 halted the ban imposed by President Donald Trump on new Tik Tok downloads. The ruling came a few hours prior to the ban was going to come into effect. The judge issued a temporary suspension on the request of Tik Tok.
India to review all vaccines prior to signing of purchase deals
India authorities will undertake the review of all vaccines before signing the purchase deals. Initially, the Central Government will be purchasing vaccines only for workers providing essential services such as doctors, medical professionals and others who are working at high risk of exposure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Danish PM Mette Frederiksen on September 28, 2020 held a virtual bilateral summit, which was hosted by India. Earlier, both the countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Intellectual Property (IP) relations among each other.
