Vodafone wins arbitration case against India on retrospective tax

Vodafone Group has won the arbitration case against India in the Permanent Court of Arbitration in Hague. The Court ruled that the Indian income tax authorities violated the provisions of Bilateral Investment Treaty with Netherlands by making amendment to the law retrospectively and demanding more than Rs 20,000 crore from Vodafone Group in tax and penalties.
