Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj visited South Korea on 28 December 2014 to attend the 8th India-Republic of Korea (RoK) Joint Commission meeting held in Seoul.
The Meeting was co-chaired by Sushma Swaraj and Yun Byung-se, Minister of Foreign Affairs (FM) of South Korea.
This was the highest level visit from India to South Korea after the assumption of power by the Narendra Modi-led NDA government in May 2014.
During her visit, she also met Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea Yoon Sang-jick and sought support for Make in India programme.
She also called on President of South Korea Park Geun-hye and discussed avenues for further expanding bilateral economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
During her visit, President Park Geun-hye reiterated a cordial invitation for an early official visit of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to South Korea which was welcomed by India.
Sushma Swaraj invited F M Yun to visit India in 2015 for the 9th India-ROK Joint Commission Meeting.
