1. (a) Justice Sanjiv Khanna
The Central Government has notified the appointment of Justice Sanjiv Khanna as the next Chief Justice of India. Justice Khanna will take over as the 51st Chief Justice of India on November 11 and will have a tenure of about seven months till May 13, 2025. Current CJI DY Chandrachud had written a letter to the Centre recommending the name of second senior Justice Khanna.
2. (c) Nvidia
Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries has signed an agreement with US chip maker Nvidia to set up AI infrastructure in India. It was announced during the Nvidia AI Summit 2024 in Mumbai.
3. (d) Sweden
The Government of India has appointed Dr. Nina Malhotra has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Sweden. Dr. Malhotra is a distinguished Indian Foreign Service officer of the 1992 batch. Presently he is working in the Ministry of External Affairs.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a USD 434.25 million loan for the development of a 500 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) facility in Karbi Anglong district of Assam. ADB was established in the year 1966, its headquarter is in Manila, Philippines.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has recently certified it officially malaria-free. Egypt became the second country globally to achieve this status this year after Cabo Verde. Egypt is the third country in the Eastern Mediterranean region to be included in this list, after Morocco in 2010 and the United Arab Emirates in 2007.

Exercise SIMBEX 2024 is being conducted from 23 October to 25 October 2024 at Visakhapatnam. SIMBEX exercise is conducted between the navies of India and Singapore. Its marine phase will be held on 28-29 October.

Recently Luong Cuong has been appointed the new President of Vietnam. Luong Cuong was elected President by the National Assembly during its 8th session with 91.67% of the vote. Quong joined the army in 1975, rising to the rank of major general by 2006.
8. (b) Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar
The Central Government recently appointed Vijaya Kishor Rahatkar as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW). Her appointment has been made under Section 3 of the National Commission for Women Act, 1990. His tenure is for a term of three years or till the age of 65 years (whichever is earlier). Rahatkar is the 9th Chairperson of the NCW who will replace Rekha Sharma.
9. (d) Abhyudaya Jindal
Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless Limited, has been appointed as the new President of the national trade association, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). This was announced at the ICC's annual plenary meeting held in New Delhi, where Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal was the chief guest.
10. (c) Urmila Choudhary
Urmila Choudhury of Nepal was honoured with the Global Anti-Racism Championship Award 2024 in recognition of her commitment to racial equality and human rights. He co-founded the Free Kamalari Development Forum to empower former bonded labourers through 42 cooperatives.
