Senior Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Champai Soren was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand, replacing Hemant Soren who was recently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a case. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office to Champai Soren at Raj Bhavan.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also made an announcement regarding 'Lakhpati Didi Scheme' in the interim budget. The government has increased the target of 'Lakhpati Didi Scheme' under 'Self Help Groups'. The Finance Minister said that encouraged by the success of the Lakhpati Didi scheme, the government has increased the target of the scheme from Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore. Under this scheme, women are trained in skills like plumbing, LED bulb making and operation and repair of drones.

The 67th All India Police Duty Meet (AIPDM) will be organized in Lucknow from February 12 to February 16, 2024. This time the meet will be hosted by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The Central Coordination Committee of AIPDM has handed over the responsibility of this program to RPF.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim Budget 2024 in Parliament. This was the sixth time that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget. He also presented his first interim budget of his tenure. According to the documents received of the interim budget, the Defense Ministry has been given the highest allocation with ₹6.1 lakh crore. After this, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is in second place with ₹2.78 lakh crore.

Recently, the Government of India has officially given the status of 'International Airport' to Surat Airport in Gujarat. Last December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated a new terminal at Surat airport built at a cost of ₹353 crore.

Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Jay Shah has been elected as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for the third time. Asian Cricket Council was established in 1983.

President Draupadi Murmu has nominated Satnam Singh Sandhu for the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament. Satnam Singh Sandhu founded Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) in Mohali in 2001. In the year 2012, he established Chandigarh University.

Netherlands women's hockey team has won the FIH Hockey 5S Women's World Cup title. Netherlands won this title by defeating India in the final played in Muscat. Netherlands defeated the Indian team by a huge margin of 7-2. Jyoti Chhatri and Rutaja Dadaso scored goals for India but it was not enough to win.

The film '12th Fail' directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra won the award for Best Film (Popular). This film is based on the life of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. The Best Director award went to Vidhu Vinod Chopra (12th Fail). The Filmfare Award for Best Actor was given to Ranbir Kapoor for the film Animal.
10. (b) Janic Sinner
Italy's star tennis player Jannik Sinner has won the 2024 Men's Singles title of Australian Open. In the final match he defeated Daniil Medvedev of Russia. Sinner had defeated Novak Djokovic in the semi-final match. Sinner won prize money of ₹17.25 crore. He has become the third Italian player since 1976 to win the men's singles Slam tournament. Arina Sabalenka won the women's singles title.
