The world was elated to see the grand opening of the prestigious Ram temple in Ayodhya, but it is just the beginning. Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is all set to introduce the world with another stunning Hindu temple. Yes, the BAPS Hindu Temple will be inaugurated on February 14, in Abu Dhabi by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was in 2023 that the Indian Prime Minister accepted the invitation. The official invitation to the Prime Minister was presented by a BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha swami, Pujya Swami Ishwarcharandas.
On February 13, the Prime Minister will be addressing the Indian expatriates, a gathering of over 50,000 people, at the Sheikh Zayed Sports Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The name given to the event is "Ahlan Modi (Hello Modi)". This address is not going to be an ordinary one. What makes this address to the Prime Minister special is the fact that the event will prove to be the largest community reception to any Prime Minister of India abroad.
The BAPS Hindu Temple will be spread across 55,000 square metres of land. The Indian temple artisans will be getting the opportunity to hand-carve the huge UAE situated temple. Additionally, the temple is going to be the very first traditionally designed Hindu stone temple constructed in the Middle East.
Chairman Ashok Kotecha, Director Chirag Patel, and Vice Chairman Yogesh Mehta are some of the distinguished volunteers and supporters of the BAPS Hindu Mandir.
The idea of the BAPS Hindu Temple took birth soon after PM Modi became the Prime Minister of India. What makes the temple special is the fact that it is the very first temple in the United Arab Emirates.
The United Arab Emirates chose to set aside a huge piece of land for constructing a Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi during the visit of Prime Minister Modi to the UAE in 2015. It was after 34 years of the visit of the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to the UAE that the an Indian Prime Minister visited the UAE again. This very decision of the UAE made the Indian Prime Minister thank the government of UAE on behalf of the entire India.
In a video conference inauguration of the project, the Prime Minister of India said that the temple will spread the message of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" to the entire world.
