In the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, India sent a contingent of 54 athletes, and India won a staggering 19 medals, including 5 golds.
However, in this recent 2024 Paris Paralympics, India sent a total of 84 athletes, showcasing the country's commitment to para sports. Due to this, India won 29 medals, including 7 golds, 9 silvers, and 13 bronzes.
The para-athlete who repeatedly performed exceptionally well in their category is Harvinder Singh, who won bronze in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, and this time he created history by becoming the first Indian archer to win a gold medal in the Paralympics.
Another standout performer was Avani Lekhara, who won a gold and bronze in shooting events in Tokyo and added another gold to her tally in Paris.
Similarly, Sumit Antil, who won gold in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, again won gold in the 2024 Paris Paralympics with a new world record in the javelin throw event.

However, many paralympic athletes who participated in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics didn't participate in the 2024 Paris Paralympics. These athletes are Singhraj Adhana, who won silver and bronze in the men's 50m pistol SH1 and men's 10m air pistol shooting SH1.
Then we've got Pramod Bhagat, who won gold in the men's singles badminton SL3, and Devendra Jhajharia, who secured silver in the men's javelin throw F46.
