List of Man of the Match and Man of the Tournament Winners in the ICC Cricket World Cup

The award of Man of the Match is given in the cricket world cup since 1975. Clive Llyod of West Indies was the first person who got the award of Man of the Match in the World Cup. While the Award of Man of the Tournament in the cricket world cup is given since 1992.

A man who plays a very crucial role in the victory of his team is declared the "Man of the Match" award.  Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh are only two Indian who have won ‘Man of the Tournament’ award. Clive Llyod was the first Man of the match in Final of ICC Cricket World Cup of 1975.

Australia is the most successful team which has won 5 Cricket World Cups so far. India won the World Cup in 1983 and 2011, while West Indies won in 1975 and 1979.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the other two countries that have won the World Cup in 1992 and 1996 respectively. England is the only country which lost 3 finals and hosted the world cup 5 times.

So "Man of the Match" award is being given since 1975. There are only two Indians (Mohinder Amarnath & M.S. Dhoni) have won the "Man of the Match" award in the final match of the World Cup.

It is interesting to note that no player get the "Man of the Match" award twice in the final match of the ICC cricket World Cup. Australia is the only team whose 5 players have won the "Man of the Match" award in the final of the World Cup.
