Madhya Pradesh: Urban Population as per census 2011

    As per the census 2011, out of the entire population of the state, Madhya Pradesh, 27.63% people reside in urban areas. 20,069,405 people out of the total population live in urban area in which the number of males is 10,462,918 and females are 9,606,487.

    In last 10 years, the urban population has incremented by 27.63 percent. In Urban areas, the sex ratio was 918 females per 1000 males. For children in the age between 0 to 6 years, the sex ratio data revealed at 901 girls per 1000 boys.


    The total number of children between 0-6 years living in urban areas was 2,483,664.  12.38 % were children (0-6) of the total population in urban areas.  For urban areas in Madhya Pradesh, the average Literacy rate was 82.85%. It males were 88.67% literate and females at 69.46%.  In Madhya Pradesh, total literates in urban region were 14,569,183.
