Nitish Kumar is a senior Indian politician. He is the Chief Minister of Bihar since 2005. He is the member of Janata Dal (United) Party & has also served as the Union Minister of India.
Family Details
Nitish Kumar hails from Kurmi family. His father’s name was Shri Ram Lakhan Singh. His father worked in ayurvedic medicine & he was a well - known figure in the area. His mother’s name was Smt. Parmeshwari Devi. The ancestral home of Nitish Kumar is in Kalyanbigha village, which is adjoining Bakhtiyarpur. He was married Smt. Manju Sinha. She wife died in 2007. They have a son Nishant.
Career
Nitish Kumar did his schooling in Bakhtiyarpur village from Ganesh High School. He was very intelligent student. Thereafter he studied in Patna Science College. Then, he completed a degree course in electrical engineering from NIT Patna. Before joining politics he worked with Bihar State Electricity Board.
