Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born on 17 December 1936 (age 76) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The nationality of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio is Argentine with Vatican Citizenship.

Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born on 17 December 1936 (age 76) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The nationality of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio is Argentine with Vatican Citizenship. Pope francis has only one lung, the other was removed after an infection when he was a teenager.  

Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio enrolled at the University of Buenos Aires where he received a master's degree in chemistry before beginning training at the Jesuit seminary of Villa Devoto. He entered in the Society of Jesus in March 1958.

Bergoglio went on to attend the Philosophical and Theological Faculty of San Miguel He earned a degree in philosophy. Later Pope Francis received a doctorate in theology in Freiburg, Germany.
