Papua New Guinea Squad for T20 World Cup 2024 USA: Assad Vala once again captains Papua New Guinea, echoing his leadership from the 2021 tournament. The team secured their place in this year’s competition by triumphing in the East Asia-Pacific regional final in July 2023. Vala is joined by nine other players from the 2021 squad, with Jack Gardner, previously a reserve, now included in the 15-player roster. Leg-spinning all-rounder CJ Amini has been appointed as the vice-captain to support Vala.

Fourteen members of the qualifying squad for the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup have been selected, including Chad Soper, who returns to the team after a series of impressive performances on recent tours to Malaysia and Oman. Young left-arm orthodox spinner John Kariko, the youngest player in the group, brings valuable experience from the West Indies, having taken a five-wicket haul against Uganda during Papua New Guinea's participation in the 2022 U19 World Cup. Taking the reins from former Australia international Nathan Reardon, who will accompany the team as an assistant coach, newly appointed head coach and former Zimbabwean wicketkeeper Tatenda Taibu has largely retained the squad that secured qualification. Papua New Guinea will commence their campaign with a challenging match against hosts West Indies on June 2. They will then face Uganda on June 5, with both teams eager for their first-ever victory in the tournament. Subsequent matches include a clash with Afghanistan on June 13, followed by a contest against East Asia-Pacific heavyweights New Zealand to conclude the group stage.
