Citizens are angry over the policies of the government, and their have been several irregularities in the elections in Venezuela. In a backdrop like this, Nicolas Maduro became the president of Venezuela on July 29, 2024. The man secured about 51 percent of the votes agaist Edmundo González.
This proves to be an important victory, as it is for the third time that Maduro is becoming the president.
Born on November 23, 1962 in Caracas, Venezuela, in a humble family, Nicolas Maduro is a Venezuelan leader who received victory in the specail election held in the year 2013 to select a replacement to serve the remaining of the term of teh Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. It was in March 2013 when Hugo Chavez passed away.

Journey so far
Prior to becoming the president, Maduro served as the vice president. He was also a former labor leader. He became the interim president after the death of Chavez.
Hugo Chavez set the ideology and political system of chavismo, and Maduro was the proonent of the ideology. He proved to be successful candidate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela in the special election to replace Hugo Chavez. He was then reelected in the year 2018.
The authoritarian rule of Maduro urged the opposition to make strong efforts to remove the man from office.
Early life
Nicolas Maduro grew up in Caracus in a family where his father was involved in the labor movement and leftist politics. Gradually, Maduro's interest grew in the left-wing politics. This growing interest made him pursue training an an organizer in Cuba, rather than attaining a university education.
Maduro worked as a bus driver in Caracus, and while doing so, he became a representative in the transit workers union. He then rose gradually through its ranks.
In the year 1992, Chavez got imprisoned, who was an army officer then. He did an unsuccessful coup attempt. Maduro, along with his future wife, Cilia Flores campaigned for the release of Chavez.
In the eyar 1999, Maduro was a member of the National Constituent Assembly. He was also serving in the Chamber of Deputies in the same year. It got eliminated when the legislature became the unicameral National Assembly. Maduro started serving in it in the year 2000.
He then got reelected in the year 2005. Maduro served as the president of the body until 2006, when he took the position of foreign minister. He worked to advance the goals of teh Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America, which aimed at increasing the political, economic, and social integration in Latin America. It also sought to blunt the influence of the United States in the area. Moreover, the man also aided in fostering friendly relations for Venezuels with Muammar al-Qaddafi from Libya, Robert Mugabe from Zimbabwe, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from Iran.
Soon, the profile of the man in administration started to grow on one side, while the health of Chavez started deteriorating on the other end. In the year 2011, Maduro became the vice president.
