Anna University Final Semester Exam 2020: As per the latest update, Anna University has decided to hold the Final Year Exams 2020 for university and college students in online mode. The varsity informed that the End Semester Exams will be held for students as online proctoring tests by the end of this month. The announcement has come as a major relief for over 20,000 students who have been eagerly waiting for the completion of the Anna University Final Semester Exams 2020, which have been postponed for nearly two months now due to COVID-19 crisis. With the announcement, Anna University will become the first varsity in the state to conduct online exams for its students amid the on-going public health emergency due to Coronavirus pandemic.
Offline Exams to be Held Later
While the exams planned in August for Final Year Students are being held online; the varsity has also announced that it will hold an offline exam for students who do not have digital devices and internet connectivity. The details about the offline exam to be held for students who do not have internet connectivity will be announced by the university later on, once the situation around COVID-19 normalizes.
Online Proctored Test For Final Year Exams
The Anna University Term End Exams 2020 are being planned to be held at online proctored tests. S per the details shared by the university, one-hour proctoring test will be conducting separately for each subject. The test will consist of MCQ type questions, which will be answered by students in an online environment monitored by artificial intelligence tools. The tool will also record physical movements of students, computer screen usage and audio of the students to avoid any malpractices during the examination. Reports indicate that the university has floated a tender of Rs 1.9 crore for holding of online test.
30% for Online Test, 70% for Internal Assessment
The final evaluation for the end semester students will be done on the basis of a combination of factors i.e. online test as well as internal assessment. Anna University M K Surappa informed media persons that the varsity has decided to exclude one of the 5 unit tests for compilation of internal assessment marks, as some portions could not be taught due to loss of working days. He also added that the varsity will give 30% weightage to online test while 70% marks will be awarded on the basis of students’ performance in internal assessment.
