CBSE Releases List of Subjects: CBSE Board has released a detailed list of subjects for 9th and 10th Class students, which will be part of their studies for the next academic year. According to media reports, CBSE has directed that all students who will be joining 9th and 10th Class in the coming academic session will be required to study 9 Subjects in Total. Of these 9 Subjects, 5 Subjects will be Key or Compulsory which will comprise of English, Hindi, Maths, Social Science and Science. In addition to this, Two Optional Subjects i.e. Skill Based Subject and Third Language will also be part of the learning process. On the other end, the final two subjects would be chosen from list of optional Subjects.
List of Subjects for CBSE 9th and 10th Class Students
To clarify doubts of the students about the subjects to be covered in the next academic sessions, CBSE has provided the list of subjects that will be part of the teaching pedagogy and learning process for the students. The subjects include key or compulsory subjects, optional subjects as well as co-scholastic areas subject. The detailed list of these subjects is provided below:

Subjects Selected in 9th Class to be Carried Forward to 10th Class
CBSE Board has said that the academic programme for 9th and 10th Class has an integrated approach. Therefore, the subjects choose by the students to study in Class 9 will be carried forward to the next academic year and will also be part of their studies for 10th Class. This means that the subjects chosen by students in 9th Class will also be the same that they will appear for in the CBSE 10th Board Exam.
Replacement of Compulsory Subjects in Case of Failure
Students must also note that the incase any student fails in any of the three compulsory subjects i.e. Science, Mathematics and Social Science, but clears the exam for the elective Skill Subject, the skill subject will replace the core academic subject for the student and the 10th Board Exam will be held accordingly for them. On Similar lines, students who fail to clear Language 1 and Language 2 Exams, can have the subject replaced by the Language 3 Option, provided they have cleared exam for the same.
