CBSE Board Exam 2021 Fake Notice about Passing Marks: As per the latest update, the Press Information Bureau has busted a fake notice about the passing marks of CBSE Board Exam 2021 which had gone viral on social media platforms. The fake circular which was going viral on social media claimed that the board had made significant changes to the passing marks or criteria for upcoming board exams.

 

What did the Fake Notice Claim?

The fake notice that went viral on social media platforms claimed a major and significant change in the passing criteria for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams. The fake circular said that as per the latest announcement made by the government, for 2021 board exams that passing marks required to clear the exam was reduced from existing 33% to new 23%. The fake news also carried an image of PM Modi to grant authenticity to the fake claim.

However, soon after the post went viral on social media, students reached out to the board and education ministry seeking clarification on it. In response to this, the PIB had put out an official tweet busting the fake news. In a tweet sent from its official account, PIB said that ““Claim: In a post on social media, it is being claimed that the passing marks in board exams 2021 for Classes 10 and 12 have been reduced from 33 percent to 23 percent. PIB fact check: This claim is fake, the Education Minister has made no such announcement”.
