Coding Curriculum: As per the updates, the government of Delhi has associated with EdTech startup Camp K12 to bring coding and other advanced skills to schools as a part of its Schools of Specialised Excellence (SoSE) initiative. The Gurgaon-based EdTech is building a coding curriculum and providing resource personnel who will be implementing the courses in schools.

The SoSE schools are choice-based schools for grades 9 to 12 that allow students to specialise in their chosen fields of studies. The students will also have the opportunity for experiential learning through projects, field visits, internships, etc. in their field of interest.

Aim of the Initiative

The initiative aims to provide an education focused on high-end skills and entrepreneurship development. The enrolled students will get the opportunity to participate in coding hackathons and inter-school contests as well as build real-world projects addressing problems in their communities, apart from having frequent interactions with industry experts from India and the US.

The program started in January, with the confidence that the Metaverse / Virtual Reality / 3D Game Development module is not too young for kids to get hooked on coding and create the kind of games and applications they play with. Provide knowledge.

All participating kids can code and publish their online 3D metaverse, allowing other kids to play with virtual reality headsets and regular desktop/mobile. Over time, the curriculum will move on to more challenging topics: Python and JavaScript for web and mobile apps, and data science/machine learning for artificial intelligence applications.

Statement of Himanshu Gupta, Director of Education

Himanshu Gupta, Director of Education, said that the Delhi government wants to equip the students with contemporary skills and give them exposure to cutting-edge technologies and Camp K12 fits the bill.
"Apart from providing schools with a ‘comprehensive technology solution’, the Camp K12 has also rolled out an ‘assessment engine’ through which student progress will be evaluated," he said.
