The Delhi University (DU) has introduced a new Certificate Course in AI Film Making through its Campus of Open Learning (COL). The programme is aimed at learners interested in using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools across different stages of filmmaking, from developing an idea and story to creating visuals, editing videos and producing audio.

According to the official course page, the programme will be conducted in offline mode and has a duration of three months. The course has 30 seats, while the fee has been fixed at Rs 15,000. Registration for the upcoming batch began on October 5, 2026, and will remain open until October 31, 2026. The commencement date for the first batch is yet to be announced.

What Will Students Learn?

The course will combine conceptual learning with practical activities and project-based exercises. Students will be introduced to AI-assisted filmmaking workflows, including ideation, story development, storyboard creation and visual world building.

The curriculum will also cover prompt writing, text-to-image generation, AI-generated visual assets, video editing, audio production and background scoring. The programme is designed to help learners create AI-assisted film content rather than only understand the technology theoretically.

The skills can be useful for students looking to explore opportunities in film and video production, advertising, digital media, social media, content creation and other creative fields.

DU AI Film Making Course: Eligibility

The programme is open to all, including DU students. Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board and should have basic computer literacy. The university also says familiarity with social media content creation, basic photo or video editing and creating videos on a phone or computer is desirable.

Admissions will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to seat availability. The university has clarified that the course provides foundational and practical skills but does not guarantee employment or placement.
