Former President Pranab Mukherjee delivers lecture as visiting faculty at IIM Ahmedabad

Former President of India, Dr Pranab Mukherjee yesterday, delivered his first lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) as a visiting faculty. He addressed the topic 'public policy for inclusive development' in front of the students of the postgraduate programme in management, which is a flagship course of the premier business school. The IIM-A, however, declined to share the content of his lecture and said a project report will be shared after the lecture series concludes on November 17. Dr Mukherjee will also be seen conducting lectures today and then on October 8-9 and November 16-17.

In his lectures, Mukherjee will present "the theory and practice of the Constitutional provisions for socio-economic inclusion," and will focus on "policy interventions of financial inclusion".His lectures will also include articulation of ‘the policy and institutional agenda for strengthening transformation of India.’"After presenting the theory and practice of the Constitutional provisions for socio-economic inclusion, he will focus on policy interventions for financial inclusion, and then articulate the policy and institutional agenda for strengthening transformation of India," the institute had earlier stated.

The management students who are participating in the lecture series will also accumulate short reports on various public policy issues to be presented to Dr Mukherjee. Former President Mukherjee has taken up the role of visiting lecturer for the newly launched course in Public Policy. He will teach 12 out of 22 sessions of the programme - Public policy for Inclusive Development of India.

He has decided to take the lectures on the themes like, “Constitutional Provisions for Socio-economic Inclusivity: Theory and Parliamentary Practice; Policy and Institutional Intervention for Financial Inclusion: A Legacy to be Built Upon, and Articulating Policy and Institutional Agenda for Future Transformation of India, that could help the young mind in understanding different factors. It has been stated that all the students of PGP programme, agri-business programme and full-time executive programme of IIM Ahmedabad can attend the lectures taught by Dr Mukherjee.
