HRD Ministry Invites Applications for MEXT Scholarship Program for 2020-21 academic session

MHRD has invited application from Indian students willing to pursue postgraduate and research courses at Japanese university under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program 2020.

The Ministry of Human Resource and Development has invited applications for students in India for the MEXT Scholarship Program 2020. The program allows Indian students to pursue postgraduate and research courses in Japanese University. Interested and eligible students can apply for the MEXT Scholarship 2020 Program until 9th July 2020. Students selected for the program will be eligible for admission to the October 2021 batch.

The MEXT scholarship 2020 will be provided in the subjects of Mathematical Science; Physics; Chemistry, Japan-related Humanities; Japan-related Social Science; Chemical Engineering; Biology and Biotechnology; Environmental Science; Pharmaceutical Science; Agriculture and Fishery; Geology and Geo-informatics; Civil Engineering; Material Science/Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Electronics & Communications Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Architecture; Aerospace Engineering; Information Technology; Robotics and Sports Science.

The MEXT Scholarship 2020 Program application form is currently available on the official website of the Embassy of Japan. Interested students under the age of 35 can download the application from the website. Students willing to apply for Master's course, Research and doctoral course (first phase), a Bachelor's degree in relevant field with a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate is required. The applicant must also have obtained their mark sheet and degree certificate by 30th September 2021. Those willing to apply for Doctoral Course (second phase) are required to have a master's degree in relevant field with a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate. In addition, the applicant must also possess teaching/practical research/work experience after obtaining the prescribed qualification by 30th September 2021. It must b noted that owing to the situation surrounding COVID-19 pandemic, the MEXT Scholarship 2020 application procedure may be stopped at a later stage and/or the Embassy of Japan in India may change or entirely cancel the selection procedure for the academic year 2020-21.
