ICAI CA May Exam 2024 Postponement: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is likely to defer the CA foundation, final, and intermediate exams for the May session in case the dates collide with the general elections 2024 as per the latest notification. ICAI CA May Exam 2024 Postponement Likely Due to Lok Sabha Elections
This year, The 18th General Elections for Lok Sabha will be administered. The official notification of ICAI reads, ‘’It is pertinent to mention that General Election to 18th Lok Sabha are scheduled to be held in 2024, notification for which is awaited. Accordingly, the Examination Committee may reschedule May 2024 CA Examination, if the dates of General Election coincide with the present Examination Schedule.’’
The notice further reads, ‘’The Examination Committee in its 648th Meeting held on 8th and 9th January 2024 among others has decided that there should be a cooling off period for one attempt after three (3) consecutive attempts for Observership duties. The same be applicable w.e.f. May 2024 with retrospective details.’’
ICAI CA May Exam Date 2024
As per the timeline, candidates who did not apply for the CA exam 2024 before the cut-off date will be eligible to apply by paying the late fee, which can be Rs 600 or Rs 10 U.S. dollars. Those who have applied for the CA exam 2024 can make changes in their submitted form from March 3 to 9, 2024.
