JEE Main Result 2026: Why Raw Marks Do Not Decide Rank

Many candidates assume that higher raw marks directly translate to better ranks, but in JEE Main 2026, this is not entirely true. This “best of two” rule ensures that a single poor performance does not affect the candidate’s overall standing. It encourages students to attempt both sessions without fear of losing advantage. The final All India Rank (AIR) is then prepared based on this best score, which plays a crucial role in determining eligibility for JEE Advanced and admission to top engineering institutes.
