Maharashtra School Reopening: Schools to run in Shifts for 3-4 Hours, Check Guidelines Here

Maharashtra School Reopening: Schools in Maharashtra will reopen for the students of classes 1 onwards from December 1, 2021. According to the announcement made, schools will be running in shifts of 3 to 4 hours and students will be called to the school in stages. School authorities have also been asked to endure that only 15 to 20 students are accommodated in a classroom. As per the announcement made schools for classes 1 to 4 in rural areas and from classes 1 to 77 in the urban areas will reopen from December 1, 2021.

 

Maharashtra state education minister Varsha Gaikwad has shared a notification and mentioned on Twitter that the department is happy to welcome the students from class 1 onwards back to school on December 1, 2021. She further added that safe resumption of schools is being considered to ensure that all the students have equal access to education amidst the pandemic.

Maharashtra School Reopening Guidelines

As mentioned, the state government has provided schools and students with guidelines that are required to be followed when reopening the schools. 

  • According to the guidelines it is mandatory for teaching and non-teaching staff members to complete their vaccination doses. Authorities have also been asked to ensure full vaccination of the staff members.
  • Parents will not be allowed inside the school premises and classes will be conducted in phases in order to endure social distancing.
  • Students and staff members have also been asked to follow the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines and wear masks, use hand sanitizers and also ensure social distancing rules are followed.
  • Schools have also been allowed to accommodate students in a way that each class has 15 to 20 students at a time and one student is seated on a single bench.
  • If any of the students are found symptomatic they will be taken to the school head. Schools are also required to have separate medical treatment facility in the schools.

The state government decided to reopen the schools after a survey was conducted by the state School Education Department which stated that more than 70 percent of the parents want the schools to reopen.
