Punjab School Education Board Chairman Yograj Sharma while announcing the class 8 and 10 results 2021 stated that the pass percentage for the class 8 students was 99.87 percent while the pass percentage for the class 10 students was 99.93 percent.
Girls outshine Boys
As per the result statistics released by the board, the girls have outnumbered the boys in both the classes. A total of 3,07,272 students were eligible for the class 8 examinations out of which 3068893 students cleared the exam. A total of 321384 students were eligible for the class 10 exams from which 321161 were declared as qualified in class 10. Sharma also stated that the government schools have fared better than the private schools in both classes.
Evaluation Criteria
Punjab Board had announced that the PSEB class 10 students will be evaluated based on assessment criteria set by the board since the exams were cancelled. The class 10 exams were cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation in the state. The results of Class 8 and 10 students were declared based on the internal assessment marks covering the parameter of all the subjects.
