The Deputy Director of Education, Pune region has stated that the request for a change in college in Class 12 will be considered only if it has a valid reason. The education office has given a few reasons which can be considered as valid for a transfer of a student to a different college in the Second Year Junior College (SYJC-Class 12)
Some of the reasons stated by the education office include, a student changing residence and moving to a different or farther location, job transfer of parents, medical condition. Most of the students decide to change the college or stream after they complete the first year of junior college. The possibilities and scenarios, under which a student can change or transfers to a different college, have now been changed. A transfer can be granted to a student only if the reason for change fits the ones listed by the education office, says Minakshi Raut, Deputy Director of Education.
Sometimes the students tend to also change their mind regarding the stream they opted for. For example, initially, after option for the science stream and completing a year candidates sometimes wish to change the stream. This can be cone depending on the availability of seats in the college that the students wish to be transferred to.
It must be noted that not all the students who wish for a stream change will be given admission to the college they want to get in. the percentage of the candidate and the availability of seats in the college of their choice will be taken into consideration while granting a transfer, the deputy director added.
Since the admissions to the first year junior college (FYJC) is conducted in the online mode, the changes in case of a transfer need to be made in the online database of the education office says Raut who also added that once a student is given a transfer to the college of their preference in the second year (SYJC) the college in which that student was earlier admitted will have to inform the education office about the change so that the database is updated.
