The Secretary to Exam Regulatory Officer Bhushan Chaturvedi has stated that the revised dates of UPTET 2019 will be announced shortly by the board. While speaking to the media he said that the Basic Education Board of Uttar Pradesh is in the process of determining the new dates for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. The dates for the same will be announced in the next two days, he said.
While speaking to the media he stated that December will be over in a few days and it will be impossible to conduct the UPTET examination before the year ends which is why the examination will be conducted in January next year.
Chaturvedi also said that due to the internet ban placed in the different regions most of the candidates were unable to download their UPTET 2019 admit cards which were released on the official website earlier.
The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test was to be conducted by the board on December 22, 2019, but the same was postponed due to the internet services being banned in several parts in order to keep the law and order situation in the state under control after the CAA protests arising in the state.
According to reports, 16 lakh 58 thousand candidates had registered for the UPTET 2019 examination to be conducted across 1986 examinations centres in the state.
UPTET will have two examination papers. While paper 1 will be conducted for the candidates who wish to teach the primary section from classes 1 to 5, Paper 2 will be conducted for the candidates who wish to teach the upper primary sections from classes 6 to 8. The candidates applying for UPTET 2019 are to make sure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for both the papers. Those candidates who successfully fulfill the eligibility criteria for both the papers can apply for both and submit the requisite fee for the same.
