Aligarh Muslim University conducts law entrance exam for admissions to BA LLB courses offered at Faculty of Law. There are total 220 seats offered at three centres of AMU i.e. AMU Aligarh campus, AMU Center Malappurram, and AMU Center Murshidabad. Candidates seeking admissions to BA LLB course at faculty of Law can apply in online mode only and appear for the entrance exam. Eligibility Criteria for AMU BA LLB Entrance Exam:

Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria of BA LLB course as mentioned by Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University. Check below the eligibility criteria of AMU BA LLB as mentioned below –

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12th board examination or Senior Secondary School Certificate or an equally recognized examination from Aligarh Muslim University/CBSE board/State board
  • The candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects in Class 12th level examination.
  • Moreover, candidates who have completed Bridge Course (for Graduates of Deeni Madaris) from AMU with at least 50% marks in aggregate are eligible for admissions to BA LLB course.
  • However, candidates must not be more than 22 years as on 01st July at the time of admission.

How to apply for AMU BA LLB Entrance Exam?

Candidates can apply for BA LLB admissions at AMU in online mode as the application form are by the first week of February every year. Check below how to apply AMU law entrance exam –

  1. Registration –Visit the official website to register for BA LLB entrance exam. Candidates need to enter their official name, a valid Username, e-mail id, set password, and enter the ‘Captcha’ security code and click on ‘register’ button.
  2. Fill in the application form After registration, candidates can fill up the application for including personal detail, educational qualification details, entrance test and course details as well as exam centre selection.  
  3. Uploading documents Once the application form is completed, candidates can upload scanned copies of passport size colour photograph, signature and thumb impression in JPG format and of file size 20KB to 100 KB.
  4. Application fee payment The application fee for law entrance exam can be paid in online mode using Debit Card/Credit Card only. The application fee is Rs. 600 for all candidates.
  5. Form submission The application form can be submitted in online mode only and after submitting the form, candidates are advised to get a print out copy of the same for future references.

Subject weightage

  • The AMU BA LLB entrance exam is based on the following subjects –

1. General English

2. Current Affairs/General Knowledge (with emphasis on legal issues)

3. Reasoning and Aptitude

  • The question paper of AMU law entrance exam carries 100 marks questions. There are 75 objective type questions carrying 75% weightage and, 10 short answer type questions carrying 25% weightage.

Marking Scheme –

  • The objective type question carries one mark each and there is one paper of 75 questions for MCQs.
  • There is a separate paper for short answer type questions and, there are 10 questions of total 25 marks. The marks allotment for each question is 2.5 marks.
  • There is negative marking scheme and, one-fourth of the allotted marks (25%) are deducted for each wrong attempt.
