Jun 27, 2013 18:03 IST

In order to satisfy growing need of faculty in different streams like technology, science, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in India, a pilot project is launched in partnership of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and the Ohio State University.

To develop partnership and step up collaboration between Indian and American institutes of higher education, John F Kerry, US secretary of state signed eight MoUs with MM Pallam Raju, human resource development  minister. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is involved with one of them.  However, an award of about $250,000 is offered for each project.

To create a STEM Education and Research Centre at AMU, targeted at offering opportunities for education and research for mutual benefit and expertise, AMU program will be employed by both institutions.
