Art history program focuses connoisseurs

Art Konsult has declared an art history course of two months that will begin from Saturday at Art Bull in Lado Sarai. This course is launched on considering its importance for artists, critics and collectors.

Western Art history is also important along with an Indian Art history that evolved before the Christ birth. It gradually considered in the academic field after the 16th century. The topics included in the course are nudism, Marxism and effect of nationalism in art. 16 lectures will be given in the month of July and August to accomplish This certificate course.

Curator, Johny M.L, devised the course and conclude that this course will mention the growth and birth of Indian art history in the 20th Century. He will also deliver a lecture series on contemporary art.

Topics that will be taught under this certificate course are“Indian Independence and the Progressives”, “The Origin of Art and Great Civilizations”, “Pre-Renaissance and Renaissance Art of the West”, “Women Artists of 20th Century India”, “Architecture and Art”, “Late 19th and Early 20th Century Art Movements”, “Indian Art” and more.

The important highlight of the lectures will be delivered by Sanhita Bhowal (Department of Art History, Jamia Millia Islamia), Rajan Fulari (print-making artist and scholar ) , Mrinal Kulkarni (Assistant Professor, Department of Art History, Jamia Millia Islamia),  Siddharth Tagore (Director, Art Konsult) and Y.S. Alone (School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University) with audio-visual aid.
