CBSE has proclaimed that the Student's Global Aptitude Index (SGAI) 5th edition will be held in the month of November 2014. Online registrations have been started in Dehradun state.
The regional head of CBSE stated, "The students often take subjects suggested by their teachers or under peer pressure. The aptitude assessment will facilitate them to make an informed selection. Student's Global Aptitude Index is not yet obligatory, but the rationale is to help class 10th students decide rationally on a stream — science, humanities or commerce before opting for class 11th, well ahead of time.”
The last date for registration is 7th October 2014. Schools can enter the option provided for Student's Global Aptitude Index in the online list of candidates of class 10th students from current academic session and deposit fee of Rs 100 per student. They also need to pay along with the examination fee payable at the board’s regional office.
It is a pencil paper test. It has been developed by a team of experts. CBSE board is the only education board in India to carry out an aptitude assessment in form of Student's Global Aptitude Index. CBSE has also planned orientation and advocacy programmes for schools in Dehradun to elevate awareness about the test.
