This is the second time when CBSE Board has chosen Apeejay School Salt Lake of Kolkata to host the CBSE Regional Science Exhibition. Last year also the board selected the same venue for the exhibition. The exhibition has been organized for three days starting from 03 July to 05 July 2014. The exhibition is a platform that helps the students of various schools to share and express their innovative ideas in various forms.
This year the theme of the exhibition is 'Scientific and Mathematical Innovations' that comprises of five sub-themes as agriculture, energy, health, environment and resource. This time the chief guest will be Rabiranjan Chattopadhyay, state minister of science and technology and biotechnology and G S Rautela, director general, National Council of Science Museums is chosen as the guest of honour for the exhibition.
About 17 premier institutions will take part in it and the exhibition will be judged by many eminent scientists. As per the officials this theme and its sub-theme of the exhibition will help the students to become aware of the various environmental issues faced today. Last day of the exhibition will be opened for the city schools to visit it and for further discussions.
